Camera Modes

Portrait mode- ensuring your subject is the only thing in focus and is therefore the center of attention in the shot.

Macro Mode- Macro mode lets you move your closer into your subject to take a close-up picture.

Landscape Mode- It’s therefore ideal for capturing shots of wide scenes, particularly those with points of interest at different distances from the camera.

Sports Mode- It is ideal for photographing any moving objects including people playing sports, pets, cars, wildlife, sports mode attempts to freeze the action by increasing the shutter speed.

Night Mode- Night mode (a technique also called ‘slow shutter sync’) is for shooting in low light situations and sets your camera to use a longer shutter speed to help capture details of the background but it also fires off a flash to illuminate the foreground (and subject).

Movie Mode- This mode extends your digital camera from just capturing still images to capturing moving ones.

Aperture Priority Mode (A or AV)- This mode is really a semi-automatic (or semi-manual) mode where you choose the aperture and where your camera chooses the other settings (shutter speed, white balance, ISO etc) so as to ensure you have a well balanced exposure.

Shutter Priority Mode (S or TV)- the mode where you select a shutter speed, and the camera then chooses all of the other settings.

Program Mode (P)- it gives you a little more control over some other features including flash, white balance, ISO etc.

Manual Mode- you have full control over your camera and need to think about all settings including shutter speed, aperture, ISO, white balance, flash etc.

conceptual self portrait

this picture relates to me because I absolutely love flowers. I also see flowers as a representation of love which I love, love. I also think colorful flowers represent happiness. I feel like I usually am happy when people see me. or when people are around me. I think flowers have a bright side to them which again I’m usually very positive and happy. I think they bring comfort to those who love receiving them and I also feel like usually I bring comfort to people whether it’s just having a friend to listen to them or something like that.
Conceptual- illustrates an idea.

Cindy Sherman Has Transformed Herself Into Clowns, Movie Stars, and Society Ladies. Now, She’s ...

I feel like she is trying to mock rich women. Specially those who feel very entitled. I think she’s mocking them because of the fact that they feel entitled. Also, because they are better than new money or people who weren’t as fortunate. I think shes also mocking the way they dressed and how they looked.

Lunch Atop A Skyscraper, 1932

Lunch Atop A Skyscraper, 1932 the photographers present that day were Charles C. Ebbets, Thomas Kelley and William Leftwich but its unclear who took this picture.

The men were accustomed to walking along the girders of the RCA building (now called the GE building) they were constructing in Rockefeller Center. On this particular day, though, they humored a photographer, who was drumming up excitement about the project’s near completion. Some of the tradesmen tossed a football; a few pretended to nap. But, most famously, all 11 ate lunch on a steel beam, their feet dangling 850 feet above the city’s streets.
